Burt Landry
Bert is based in Dieppe, New Brunswick. He has a professional background in Electrical Engineering. He became hooked to moving water canoeing 10 years ago, when he joined the NB Southeast's River Runners Canoe Club, where he’s been an active member ever since. He loves the outdoors, starting earlier as a scout, then later as a scout leader. Canoeing, canoe-camping and sea kayaking are now part of his favorite activities. Being on the water provides a means of connecting with nature in an unparalleled way. Now a moving water instructor, he enjoys sharing his passion with others.
Member at large
Catherine Mallet
Catherine was born and raised in Bathurst NB. She grew up playing sports and discovered paddling as an adult working in Northern Canada where she had to commute by canoe. Her passion now lies in whitewater but basically just loves being on the water. She is a certified canoe, kayak and paddle board instructor and is passionate about education. Now living back in Northern New Brunswick, she is loving seeing the paddling community grow and would love to see kids grow up with paddling as an activity option accessible to them.

Honoring the Ancestral Waters

Acknowledging the Lands and Peoples of New Brunswick
As we embark on this journey across the rivers and lakes of New Brunswick, we acknowledge that these waters and lands have been the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples for thousands of years. We recognize the Mi'kmaq, Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet), and Peskotomuhkati (Passamaquoddy) Nations as the original stewards of this land and water, and we honor their enduring connection to it.

We offer our respect to the Elders, past and present, and to all Indigenous peoples who continue to care for this land. May our time here deepen our understanding of these sacred spaces and our commitment to preserving them for future generations.

This acknowledgment reflects respect for the Indigenous communities connected to the lands and waters of New Brunswick.
